Comfortable with Uncertainty?

Many are anxious and stressed due to COVID 19 and the uncertainty it brings on a daily basis. Maybe you are anxious about job and financial insecurity, health, life and practice, now and post COVID 19. Lessons learned when diagnosed with breast cancer are shared. Once diagnosed with cancer uncertainty is created from that point onwards. A few life lessons on how to get comfortable with uncertainty now and plan for the future, so that we challenge ourselves and our practices so that we contribute our best to others, now and in an uncertain future, which we have no control over. Lets concentrate on what we do have control over and make that our focus, every day, so we are prepared and performing with excellence, whatever comes our way! My contribution to others at this challenging time - 50% off my day mediation rate for family lawyers and clients. #barrister #advancedtrainedmediator #FDRP #arbitrator #eqcoach #highperformance #leadership #community … [Read more...]

Whats Your Game Plan For Mediation?

Elite athletes have a pre-planned game plan/strategy prior to competing so they perform at their best, in the heat of competition. With their coach they pre-plan and strategise on how they will manage their emotions as well as the technical game plan for their performance, so that they perform at their best and not sabotaged by externals that can impact negatively on their performance The Harvard Law School course "Negotiation, Leadership and How To Handle Difficult Conversations" provided five (5) difficult behaviours that can arise at mediation/negotiation. Whats your pre-prepared game plan to overcome these difficult behaviours? I assist lawyers and their clients, as an advanced trained mediator (and arbitrator) with strategies to help all who attend perform at their extraordinary best while overcoming difficult behaviours at mediation. This promotes positive relationships and process, required for satisfactory resolution of any area of dispute. #barrister … [Read more...]

High Performance & Stress at Mediation (and work)

We need good stress to increase performance and to reach top performance at mediation and work. Once we reach optimal performance, with the right amount of stress, we can be tipped over, by additional stress,  and then our performance declines, possibly as the mediation progresses or we have little time or no support at work, conflict, aggression, competition, poor offers etc. When  we have further stress/arousal, this  will interfere with our ability to work optimally, innovate, be creative, plan and respond appropriately and be at our best, as top performers. I provide the framework for how stress works to reach top performance levels and then when performance decreases to frazzle (Amygdala hijack) and the results. Practical tips for clients and lawyers at mediation (and work) to reduce stress, so top performance zone is where you are mostly, with increased mood and satisfaction.. If you have a number of mediations per month and would like Louise to help you and your clients at … [Read more...]
